How the order is made
The default sort “Recommended” is a public formula. This page shows how it works.
The weights
- Price40 points
- Transfer time15 points
- Cancellation15 points
- Instant confirmation10 points
The points are added up for each offer. The offer with the most points comes first.
- 40 points · Price: the lowest total for your dates scores fully, twice that scores nothing.
- 15 points · Transfer time: up to 5 minutes scores fully, from 30 minutes nothing.
- 15 points · Cancellation: free until 24 hours before scores fully, a shorter free window half.
- 10 points · Instant confirmation scores fully, request mode nothing.
Reviews: 20 points, from 5 verified reviews
Review points count for a car park only once it has at least 5 published, verified reviews. Until then it gets the same neutral value as every offer without reviews (4 out of 5 stars), so new car parks are not at a disadvantage. From 5 reviews the average counts, damped by a prior so that a few reviews do not dominate. As long as no offer in a search has 5 reviews, reviews do not change the order; that is why the weights above add up to 80 of 100 points. How we check reviews.
Deduction for operator cancellations
An operator that cancelled confirmed bookings in the last 180 days moves down. The deduction is capped. At most 10 points are deducted.
Where the numbers come from
- Price: the total for your dates, calculated live from the operator's current rates with the same calculation as the booking, including VAT where the operator charges it.
- Transfer time: the minutes from the car park to the terminal as given by the operator. Parkoni approves every car park before it can be booked.
- Cancellation and confirmation: the terms of each offer, exactly as the offer shows them before you book.
- Operator cancellations: the confirmed bookings an operator cancelled in the last 180 days, as a share of the bookings it confirmed in that time. Each percentage point costs 0.5 points, at most 10 points from a share of 20 %.
How we check reviews
- Only travellers who booked through Parkoni and completed their stay can review: the day after the stay one email brings a personal link. One review per booking, until 30 days after the stay.
- Parkoni checks every review before it appears. We only reject what breaks the law, insults, names personal data or has nothing to do with the stay, never a review for low stars. We never edit the text.
- No paid reviews: operators cannot buy, write, choose or have reviews removed, and nothing is given in return for a review.
- All published reviews are shown, newest first, with first name and initial where the traveller agreed. The average counts all published reviews. Reviews appear only on Parkoni, not on operators’ own websites.
- A review can be changed for 14 days and is checked again after a change; then it is fixed. When a traveller has their data deleted, their review disappears.
- In the ranking, reviews count for a car park from 5 published ones; the star rating appears in the data for search engines from 3.
A worked example
Three made-up offers for the same dates, scored with the formula above. Reviews are left out because none of the example offers has 5 published reviews: all get the same neutral value.
| Place | Offer | Total price | Transfer | Free cancellation | Confirmation | Price | Transfer time | Cancellation | Instant confirmation | Points |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

| 3 | Car park A | €60.00 | 20 min | no | on request | 40 | 6 | 0 | 0 | 46 |
Car park B comes first although Car park A is €6.00 cheaper: taken together, the other factors outweigh the higher price.
